AISA recognises that in today's world, self development, team work and leadership skills are important attributes in our young people. These elements are a very significent part of our course.

Sport is a time consuming business with teams and groups constantly together for long periods. Stress and friction can affect an individual or team performance. Eliminating this risk is a discipline we address, instilling in our students many values that are essential to great sportsmanship.

AISA works with expert instructors to provide a range of motivating and inspiring programmes designed to challenge teams and individual sports people.

The following outcomes can be expected:

  • Develop and enhance teamwork and group cohesion
  • Challenge individuals to perform in new situations

  • Improve relationships
  • Gain personal insights

Program Themes

Leadership for Everyone

It is our goal in our leadership programs, to help individuals recognize their own potential and then teach them how to use it to be effective leaders.

We have delivered many leadership programs over the years and are enthusiastic to enhance these programs by adding more focused content. There will also be facilitated discussion at each activity to help draw out lessons learned and to offer information on valuable leadership skills. LEADERSHIP for EVERYONE draws on basic values such as trust, teamwork, co-operations, and self-esteem in order to deliver a message on positive and effective leadership. This program gives EVERYONE the opportunity to be a LEADER.

Communication Package:

Communication is essential to any group of individuals and even more so for teams. The communication program allows participants to gain knowledge and experience on different forms of communication, identification of the communication blocks and how to develop effective communication.

A variety of problem solving activities can be unraveled during the day to assist in effective communication development.

Cooperation – Getting along when times are tough:

“It is through cooperation, rather than conflict, that your greatest successes will be derived…”

The Cooperation package allows participants to explore aspects of cooperation, through the medium of initiative and problem sequence which targets this aspect. This program has been established through the continual need for groups to discover cooperation through an experiential process. By the completion of the day the, participants will have discovered key aspects which assist in the development of effective cooperation skills.

Building a Strong TEAM:

This package will involve your group working towards common goals, aims and outcomes in a journey style approach to a select group of initiatives. The group will look at roles within a team, developing trust and cover theory of the stages of forming a group.

Your team will walk away from this day with more skills and knowledge to strengthen relationships and build a better team environment.

Emotional Intelligence

Did you know that Emotional Intelligence is more crucial to a person’s professional and personal success than IQ?

Studies have shown that Emotional Competencies are twice as important in job positions than academic expertise (Goleman, 1998). This suggests that the success of an individual is based much more on their emotional competence than on their academic achievement.

Emotional Intelligence is a person’s capacity to recognize feelings, self-motivate, manage emotions and negotiate relationships.

The goal of EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE is to equip individuals with the social tools necessary to manage tertiary educations, employment, and personal relationships. This program will address topics such as self-awareness, managing emotions, self-motivation, and empathy for others. Ultimately EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE will enlighten individuals to consider the relevance of emotional intelligence and consequently, how to use it in their personal and professional lives.
