Australia has an enviable reputation in both women and men’s hockey. Australian hockey is characterized by attacking skills. The men’s team is the current Olympic champions and the interstate hockey league is the highest standard national league of any of the hockey nations. The AISA home pitch (astro turf) is at the Buderim hockey complex on the Sunshine Coast. In addition to our personalized coaching and practice program, AISA students are placed with local Club sides and regularly compete at club level with current national and state league players.
Our Director of Hockey, Terry Walsh was in charge of Netherlands at Athens where both their men's and women's teams played in the gold medal games. Australia however prevailed and won the men's gold medal.
